The Syracuse Crunch took on the Utica Comets tonight at the War Memorial at OnCenter in Syracuse, NY. The rivals battled all game long, but Kristers Gudlevskis proved the hero with a 47 save effort, as the Crunch defeated the Comets by a score of 2-1. He seemed to be back to his Olympian form, making quite a few incredible saves, at times seeming to literally stand on his head.
The 22nd season of Syracuse Crunch hockey started with high hopes as the Crunch took on their Rte. 81 rivals, the Binghamton Senators. Kristers Gudlevskis earned the win with 27 saves and Jeff Tambellini scored both of Syracuse’s goals in the 2-1 win. Although both teams seemed to be sizing each other up for much of the game, there was plenty of action and great plays by both sides and each goalie looked sharp in net.
Today was the first day of pre-school for my two youngest daughters. The photos below are from their meet and greet with the teachers last week as well as the excitement of getting on the bus this morning.

These first images were from their meet and greet, first visit to the classroom:
These girls were way too relaxed, getting ready to go on their first day.
Today was the first day of school for most kids in the Syracuse area, as it was for my two oldest daughters. I was fortunate enough to have had my backdrop and lighting already set up, so figured a quick couple shots before heading out to the school was in order. The requisite shots in front of the school were also done. It’s one of the few times they are very agreeable to having pictures done.
The heat and humidity were brutal on the final day of the Nationals. I didn’t stay long, but still spent enough time to get a few shots in. For the complete set – all three days, and a lot more than what I’ve posted here – click to browse or to order prints.
